Remarkable Japanese wood, gilt and lacquer butsugu or Buddhist temple altar table, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Abundant gilt finish covers ornately carved ornamentation. Elegant curved feet and scroll edge top. Very good condition with some wear and lacquer loss commensurate with age and use, demonstrating a well-loved and utilized piece! Dimensions: 23.25” high, 61.5” wide, 16” deep.
