Gorgeous, rich graining visible throughout, seen in the splendid combination of tamo (ash) and kiri (paulownia) woods. Fabulous design accents glass-enclosed central display area featuring sinuous shelf. Traditionally used to store/display items associated with the tea ceremony, this elegant chest features several sets of sliding panel and hinged doors as well as deep, roomy drawers as alternate options for enclosed storage. Light, graceful metalwork adds to the overall elegance of this refined piece. A truly beautiful example of traditional tea tansu craftsmanship. Very good condition.
