Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Rustic Japanese sword tansu, katana dansu, in simple form, late Edo period, c. 1800-1868.  Fashioned of sturdy cedar wood. Traditionally used to store samurai swords after the Meiji government banned the carrying of weapons in public.
