Gorgeous Japanese shoe chest tansu, early 20th century. Traditionally kept at the entryway of a house to store shoes removed while at home. Fashioned entirely of richly grained golden cedar wood. Panels above and below slide open reveal ample storage space. A vertical interior cabinet provides space for umbrellas and other tall items. Very good condition. Dimensions:  36” high, 30” wide, 14” deep.
