Fabulous Japanese screen or tsuitate (room divider), early-20th-century.   Gorgeous design features slatted bamboo and handcarving.  Striking appearance and sturdy composition. These make wonderful display pieces, as well as room dividers. They often serve as a nice accent in front of a fireplace during summer when it is not in use. Very good condition. Dimensions:  47” high, 45” wide, 14” deep at foot.

Extremely rare and exceptional set of Japanese temple fusuma doors, Edo period, 17th century.   Exquisitely painted on both sides!  Egrets and irises alongside a meandering stream grace one;  dramatic foo dogs climb along peony-laden, rock outcropping on the other.  Incredible expression and brilliant artistic execution. Color and impression still vivid.  A seldom to be found pair!  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  67.5” high, 34.5” wide.
