Lovely Japanese handcarved wood ranma, early 20th-century. Scenic motif features mountain landscape and village. Skillfully carved. Sturdy, warmly colored cedar wood, black lacquer frame. Ranma are traditionally used in a Japanese room between the sliding room divider and the ceiling. The open work ensures easy flow of air from room to room. Today, they serve as gorgeous decorative accents in any setting.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:   73" x 12.5".
