Fantastic Japanese handcarved wood ranma, early 20th-century. Scenic motif features falcon amid pines. Skillfully carved with great depth and detail. Sturdy, warmly colored and dramatically grained cedar. Black lacquer frame. Ranma are traditionally used in a Japanese room between the sliding room divider and the ceiling. The open work ensures easy flow of air from room to room. Today, they serve as gorgeous decorative accents in any setting. One of a pair (see item TJ6841B). Buy one or both! Very good condition. Dimensions: 67” wide, 14.5” high.
