Outstanding, large Japanese Naga Mouchi lacquer kiri wood trunk, late Edo period, c. 1800-1860.  Deep red lacquer finish with black lacquer border.  Dramatic lockplate with large iron handles on two sides.  Perfect at the foot of a bed or as an eye-catching display piece.  Very good condition with appealing age-old distress.  Obviously a much loved and well utilized piece!  Dimensions:  27” high, 52” wide, 25” deep.
