Magnificent one-section Japanese lacquer kiri wood merchant bar chest tansu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Highly dramatic and meticulously detailed metalwork throughout features cranes, minogame long-tailed turtle, pine, bamboo and plum blossoms. A gorgeous yet functional piece and a stunning addition to any room. Very good condition. Dimensions: 42” high, 35” wide, 17” deep.
