Stunning two-piece Japanese lacquer clothing chest tansu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Bold, wonderfully rendered metalwork throughout.  Chest fashioned entirely of richly grained cedar and keyaki (zelkova) woods. Deep, roomy drawers offer generous storage.  A functional and eye-catching piece and a stunning addition to any room. Very good condition. Dimensions:  43” high, 44.25” wide, 17.5” deep.
