| Exceptional Japanese handcarved wood ranma, early 20th-century. Scenic motif features elegantly rendered plum blossoms and bamboo. Skillfully carved with great detail. Sturdy, warmly colored cedar wood. Ranma are traditionally used in a Japanese room between the sliding room divider and the ceiling. The open work ensures easy flow of air from room to room.
