Effortless three-piece Japanese isho-dansu or clothing chest tansu, Taisho period, c. 1910-1920. Golden, lightweight kiri (paulownia) wood complemented by subtle finely detailed metalwork. Roomy cabinet at top behind paneled doors; numerous drawers in a combination of sizes offer great storage options below. Traditional warabite style drawer pulls. A wonderful example of elegance and simplicity in traditional tansu craftsmanship! Very good condition. Dimensions: 63.25” high, 36” wide, 16.5” deep.
