Bold two-section Japanese lacquer isho-dansu or clothing chest tansu, late Edo period, c. 1800-1868. Beautiful chest features rich lacquer finish on lightweight kiri wood. Charming metalwork featuring kakute-style handles. Deep, long drawers offer generous storage space. A fine example of traditional tansu craftsmanship. Very good condition. Dimensions: 42" high, 34.5" wide, 17" deep.
