Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Handsome Japanese two-section clothing chest tansu, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926.  Substantial chest fashioned of warm, lightweight kiri (paulownia) wood.  Striking traditional metalwork features bold, circular lockplates, graceful bracketing and heavyweight, warabite style handles.  Long, deep drawers offer generous storage space.   A sublime and functional piece exhibiting Japanese style and tradition.
