Fantastic carved Japanese wood ranma, early 20th-century. Dramatic motif features fierce dragon amid swirling clouds. Skillfully carved with great depth and detail. Sturdy, richly colored cedar wood with black lacquer frame.  Ranma are traditionally used in a Japanese room between the sliding room divider and the ceiling.
